There was a colonnade flanked by the dwellings. It was an approach belonged to Kisimojin, a Shinto shrine. Yet it was not connected to the precinct directly. After going through this approach, you should turn to the left to enter into the precinct. Perhaps, the area in which the dwellings stood was also the precinct at one time. And it changed with the times.
I could see some people walking the approach.
