Shot at Yasukuni Jinja, a Shinto shrine in Kudan, Tokyo
The sky was slowly darkening. It was dusk. The sky above the Yasukuni Jinja Shrine grounds was a beautiful sunset. And the orange-tinted sky showed a small silhouette. The small silhouette in the lower center of this photo is the statue of Masujiro Omura standing in the precincts of Yasukuni Shrine. The statue of Omura Masujiro, who is said to be the founder of the Imperial Japanese Army, stands in the middle of the wide main approach to Yasukuni Shrine.
By the way, this statue was the first western-style statue made in Japan. His head was turned to the side and it was said to be looking at Ueno where he fought against the shogunate forces.
