While I was browsing the stores at the Shuixian Temple Market, a female customer came in. She seemed somewhat strong-willed. Chinese women tend to be more feisty than Japanese women in general, but this woman gave me the impression of being one of them.
There were plastic bottles and cans lined up on the counter, and the woman picked up one of them and started talking to the clerk. I don't know what she was saying, but I guessed she was asking some question about the product. She spoke quickly, and her words seemed to come out in rapid succession.
On the other hand, the expression on the face of the clerk who was talking to me was a little cloudy. He looked annoyed or fed up. Perhaps he was unable to respond to the questions that kept coming up one after another. I watched this exchange from a distance. In the bustling bustle of the market, only the exchange between these two people seemed to stand out as if it were another small drama.
