The stubble-faced man was sitting in the counter of a restaurant. He was a boss. Looking around, he assumed a dignified pose. To work hard was not his role. His job was giving and taking of money and to observe from a vantage point. He was not proletarian.
It was common to clearly define the separate roles for the staffs and the owner here. When I held my camera, he smiled while he watched me from above.
