Walking around the Chong De Market in Tainan, looking at all the delicious-looking food being sold inside is reaching its limit. I was getting hungry. So I decided to get something to eat at one of the many food stalls. But it was difficult to decide which stall to go to. Every food stall looked delicious.
As I wandered around, I passed a stall with a large round iron plate behind the counter, where a brusque woman was working. The woman with a spatula in her hand was just cooking. Radish cakes. Being a fan of radish cakes, I decided to fill my stomach here after seeing the radish cakes being cooked on the griddle.
The woman was flipping the charred daikon cakes over and over. Not being able to speak Chinese, I gestured and told the woman that I wanted to eat it. The woman continued to cook, seemingly at a loss as to whether she understood or not. But after a while, a plate of hot radish cakes came out, so it seems that she understood me.
