Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. The area was covered with jungle until the mid-19th century, but in the late 1850s, with the discovery of tin ore in the vicinity, Chinese settled the area and established a small settlement at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers. This is the origin of Kuala Lumpur, and the meaning of the place's name is "muddy river".
