Shot in the city of Nasik, India.
A public washing ghat lied just downstream of Ramkund, a bathing ghat. Many women were sitting on the edge of the water and just washing clothes there. People bathed in the upper stream and people washed in the downstream in the same river.
The women were washing by hand. It was still common to wash clothes by hand here. When women washed together, it was possible to chat during working. So I guessed it was not a bad idea. Working with chatting pleasantly could make the exhausting labor easy in some small measure.
