Train And Railroads

Train approaching Galle Railway Station
Shot near Galle Railway Station in Galle, Sri Lanka tetsuOzawa

The train was approaching the Galle train station

The long train was making its way towards the finish line station. Looking at the windows of the train, they were all open. There was no air conditioning in the car, it was probably because it was hot inside. There may not have been any window panes to begin with. The doors were open at both ends of the cars.

Those who thought that the doors must have been opened beforehand because they were approaching the station were naive. In Sri Lanka, as in India and Myanmar, the doors are not closed even if the train is in motion. You may feel it's dangerous, but for those who have only ever taken such a train, it's natural.
