Two boys on their way home from school with backpacks on their backs were walking on the railroad tracks. In Sri Lanka, it is not unusual to walk on the tracks, and no one pays attention when they see it. It may be because there are not many trains running, but I guess it is a shorter way than walking on the road. Many people come and go on the tracks.
Walking on the tracks requires walking on the sleepers, which may seem difficult, but the locals don't seem to mind. Perhaps they feel as if they are a train moving powerfully forward. The two boys in the photo are no exception. They were walking with light steps, but soon disappeared from sight, disappearing beyond the tracks.
