The Utaki, a place for the veneration of gods and ancestors, was in the residential area. This place is one of them called Nagasaki On. A torii was standing at the entrance of it. Originally, torii was a symbol of Shintoism or Buddhism in Japan. This torii might be built after the island became a part of Japanese territories in an official manner.

A road was stretching on the other side of the tori. And I found a figure walking at the end of the road.
