The young man sat down in a small shop on the corner of Kolkata. He was a tobacconist. Many boxes of cigarettes could be seen piled up on the shelves behind him. There was no such thing as a convenience store, so there were many small tobacco shops like this one in the city.
In Japan, it used to be commonplace to buy cigarettes from small tobacco shops. And many of them had a beautiful woman as a poster girl in the shops. Since most of the cigarette smokers were men, the sales of cigarettes sold by beautiful women probably increased more than those sold by middle-aged men. Men are simple.
