Many cycle-rickshaws were parked on the roadside in Berhampore. They were parked opposite each other and looked more like a yard than a parking lot for cycle-rickshaws. A closer look reveals that many of them are well-worn.
According to the story, many of the cycle-rickshaws running around town have owners, and rickshaw wallahs rent the vehicle out for business. Therefore, a rickshaw wallah only needs one body to rent a vehicle and start working. It's the perfect job for a laborer from the countryside who doesn't have any money or means to start a business. Maybe this is a cycle-rickshaw yard for people who own several vehicles.
