Doll hung under eaves

The doll was hung under the eaves

Shot in the city of Oume, Tokyo.

When I rambled along, I found a little doll hung under the eaves of a house. It was made from paper and a face was drawn. This handmade doll was an amulet and they were made when people wanted to stop or prevent a rainy day.

It watched the sky with its big eyes to deliver the wish to the deity of the weather. Because it was not raining when I found it, the wish seemed to be realized. And I thought the person who made it was satisfied with the result.
