Nearly two years have passed since the first tower apartment was built in front of Musashi-Koyama Station. Now another tower apartment is being built next to it, and eventually another one will be built where the high school is currently located. It seems like a lie that there used to be messy alleys in front of the station and a dense concentration of bars. The atmosphere around Musashi-Koyama station has changed since the tower apartment was built. I guess this kind of thing is called gentrification.
There are some stores on the ground floor and the second floor of the tower apartment, making it look like a little shopping mall, but despite the enthusiasm to make it a landmark that will become a symbol of Musashi-Koyama, there are many empty stores even though it has been about two years since it was built. The location of the mall is perfect, right in front of the station, but the rents must be so high that no one is moving in.
Personally, what I find most strange about this mall is the covering of the street trees. When the mall was under construction, I thought that the covers would be removed and the trees would grow up and spread their branches when the mall was completed, but two years later, they are still covering the trees. It was as if the trees had been covered with spider webs, which made me feel a little uneasy when I saw them. I wondered when they would remove the covers. I wonder when they will take off the covers, but I have a feeling that they will tear off before they do.
