The rain had stopped. Though the sky remained heavy with lingering clouds, the damp ground still held traces of the storm — quiet echoes in the form of scattered raindrops. Slowly, life began to return to the street that had fallen silent.
Under the eaves of weathered two-story houses, a few men stood idly. One stretched his legs over the wet ground, a cigarette in hand. Another peered out from a cracked door, watching without urgency. In this place, where rain feels woven into daily life, getting wet — or waiting — seems to carry little weight.
There wasn’t a tourist in sight. From the corner of my vision, a man pushing a bicycle glanced at me, briefly — then his gaze slipped back into the fabric of the everyday. And I kept walking, alone, through the hush that hung gently over the town.
