There was a man standing in front of a small cafe on the side of the main road
A small cafe was operating on the side of the main road in Berhampore. It was a modest cafe. Wooden tables and benches were lined up under a roof supported by bamboo pillars. Perhaps because it was the time of day when not many customers came, there was not a single customer inside.
As I was looking at the cafe from the outside, a man who was working in the back came forward. The man in a checkered shirt stopped in front of a store, one hand on a bamboo pole, staring at me. Behind the counter, another man was in the middle of making Chai. Although there were no customers, it seemed that the cafe was always ready for customers.
