Because the wide streets were noisy, I entered the lane which stretched along a small canal. Unlike Khlong Saen Saep, it was narrow and no water-bus ran. Right from the start, I didn't know its name. Anyway, the canal flanked by the dwellings was silent.
I walked along the canal in a leisurely manner. Rambling along, I met few dwellers. No kids played around. The adults might be busy themselves with their preparations for dinner.
In the meantime, I found a figure on the opposite side of the canal. A man who was stripped to the waist lied down on the bank of the canal and just took a nap. The soft sunlight came down on him. And the sunlight made the scenery ambrosial. I felt as if I watched a religious painting.
