The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, built during the bubble era, is very tall. One wonders if it was necessary to make it that tall. Probably not. The shadows cast by the tall buildings were so large that even the citizens' plaza in front of the government building was almost entirely covered by the shadow of the government building itself.
I was looking at the square from above. Then the silhouette of a businessman appeared in my field of vision. The silhouette was walking between the shadows. He seemed to be heading for Shinjuku station. The square was quiet as if the hustle and bustle of the city was a lie.
