The Asakusa Samba Carnival was held. It was started in 1981 and known as the biggest samba contest in Japan. The entrants were dancing in the street while they were wearing a flashy dress.
The woman in the photo was one of them. She also wore a sparkish costume and danced happily. The street was filled with the rhythm of samba. Surprisingly, Japanese might be similar to Latin American in temperament.
