A large plaza was set up in front of a church in Tustra Gutiérrez named after St. Rox, the patron saint of the plague, and St. Bartolomé, who was martyred by flaying. I had a feeling that something was about to start.
After a while, the music started as I had expected. Young men and women in matching uniforms began to dance in pairs. The ballroom dancing had begun. People gathered around the dancers and watched them. Everyone was watching intently. The girls, in particular, seemed to be attracted by the fascination of the dance.
