Suzhou is now completely overshadowed by Shanghai, but it was once a prosperous trading center. It was even the capital of Wu during the Spring and Autumn period. And as a water town, it is lined with canals everywhere.
As I stood on a bridge over one of these canals, I saw a rowboat coming from the other side. It was unusual. Most of the time, the waterways are quiet.
A man is rowing a boat at a leisurely pace. Watching this scene alone, I feel as if I have traveled back in time. The town has developed, but some people still seem to use the waterways for daily transportation.
