I had no idea what to expect, but it seemed that Zaachila was just celebrating its festival day. The parade started from a church I happened to peek into and proceeded with many participants. I guessed it was a Christian festival, but I did not know what kind of festival it was. Although I didn't know what it was, I thought it looked interesting and decided to follow the parade.
The parade was moving into town. At the front of the parade was a mariachi dressed as Charro, leading the participants as they played. They did not simply play as they went along but stopped from time to time to check behind them as they led the way. A man who was playing a guitarron like a guitar monstrosity was also checking on the participants while plucking the strings.
