It would be understandable if a UFO was flying overhead or a solar eclipse was taking place, but it seems a little odd to see grown adults looking up at the sky in the same posture in the middle of the afternoon when nothing is going on. Such a slightly strange routine was lying around in Tetsugakudo Park, which I visited on that day.
People standing around the pond were looking up at the sky with their palms held up, probably to avoid the sun. They were all in the same posture, though not exactly unruffled. Anyone encountering such a scene would no doubt be curious to see what was beyond their gaze. I hurriedly looked in the same direction, wondering if something was interesting there. But there was nothing. There was nothing but a bright blue sky.
As I began to comprehend the situation, it seemed that these people were not looking at something floating in the sky. They were just a group of volunteers exercising in the park. Upon closer inspection, I found that only one of them was looking in the opposite direction from everyone else and raising his voice. Following his voice, the others were striking various poses. It is confusing. If everyone was looking up at the sky in the same posture, you would think that something extraordinary was happening in the sky.
