Okra And Girl

Girl selling Okra

The girl was selling Okra

Shot in the city of Malda, India.

The girl in this photo was working among the adults in the street market. She was young, but she seemed to pull her weight. And she worked proudly. Various vegetables were sold in the market and what she was selling was Okras. The basket placed on the ground was filled with Okras. Although it was native to the Eastern Africa, it was also common here like in Japan. I thought they could be good addition to curry which was a daily meal for the locals.

Surprisingly, its English name was same as its Japanese name.
