Two men were sitting facing each other on the side of a street in Ho Chi Minh City. On the table between them was a chessboard. They were playing a game of Chinese chess called xiangqi. Perhaps because there are many overseas Chinese in this area, Chinese chess, which is slightly different from Japanese chess, seems to be common. Walking around the town, I saw people playing chess on the side of the road.
The man in the hat sitting on the left was looking into the distance with his hand on his chin. He looked like he was thinking about his next move.
