A man on a motorcycle was stopped at an intersection. A horse-drawn carriage called a kalesa was crossing in front of him. Beyond the carriage, they could see a McDonald's sign. Laoag is a rural town in the northern part of Luzon, but McDonald's, a symbol of American capitalism, has a presence here as well.
A closer look at the signage reveals that McDonald's here also has a drive-through. It is only natural that motorcycles and cars can use the drive-through, but can horse-drawn carriages also be used? Going to buy a hamburger in a horse-drawn carriage seems quite fashionable.
