Many carriages were parked in front of St. Paul's Metropolitan Cathedral, in Vigan. This city is registered as a World Heritage Site as a historical city. The cathedral is a part of it. However, the carriages waiting in front of the cathedral, called kalesa, are not for tourists. They are used by the locals and are waiting for customers in front of the cathedral, where many local people visit.
I saw a man and a woman riding in one of the carriages. Even though many local people come to the cathedral, few were coming out of the cathedral where mass was still going on. They seemed to be bored with the lack of visitors, and the woman was looking out the back window to see what was going on around them.
