Lanterns In Kitano Tenman-Gu

lanterns in Kitano tenman-Gu

The lanterns were hung from the eaves

Shot at Kitano Tenman-Gu, a Shinto shrine in Kyoto.

The lanterns were hung under eaves of a building in the precinct. The deity enshrined here was Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. He was an actual person died over 1000 years ago. Many Shinto shrines were dedicated to him in this country and he was famous.

I wondered whether there were any saints governing the learning in the Christendom. Although there were many giants in the ancient Greece, I thought there were not any saints of the study in the Christendom.
