The Phaya Lan Station was surrounded by a quiet atmosphere. I was relaxing on the platform. I looked at the platform on the other side and saw a peddler wearing a cap standing there. He was resting in the shade under the pedestrian bridge with his carrying pole on the ground.
Hanging from either end of the balance pole was a basket full of goods for sale. The man must be planning to board the next incoming train and do business on board. There are many peddlers on board the trains that run along the Yangon circle line, and many of them do business inside the train. In one unusual case, I once saw a man selling papaya salad on the train.
When I pointed my camera at a peddler with many items for sale, the man started pointing in the right direction. He was reminding me to be careful of the approaching train and not to be too preoccupied with taking pictures.
