It seemed that inside the metal gate was a school, and as I stood in front of the gate, school children came out of the doorway one after another. It must be recess time. The schoolyard beyond the gate was too small for them to play around, so they seemed to be coming out of the gate.
The boys who came out were curious about the foreign tourists who happened to be there, especially about the SLR camera I was carrying. The two boys in particular were very curious and started talking to me. When I pointed my camera at them, they gave me a nice smile.
The boys who came out of the gate were all wearing their school uniforms. They wore white shirts and dark red ties. I've seen a lot of elementary school kids in India wearing their school uniforms, but I wondered if it was normal for elementary schools in India to have uniforms, or did the elementary school students I saw happen to be from schools where children from good families attend? I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it was the latter.
