Shot at a small fishing village in Dalah, Myanmar.
Some people described this area as a slum quarter on the net. Walking a narrow street in a small village, I saw some motorbikes parked in front of a shop. It was common to see motorbikes. Therefore, the people seemed not to be so poor here. Actually, the average income in this village might be less than the average income in the downtown. It was too overdramatic to call here dens of misery.
In the meantime, a boy came to me. When I held my camera, he started to throw a deuce happily. Thanaka was painted on his face like other kids. What he wore was an orange T-shirt. And a cartoon character was printed. At first, I thought it came on to a Japanese cartoon. Yet it was not. It came on to a Korean cartoon called Robocar Poli.
