Many local people worked in the market. And many locals came here to buy foodstuffs. This market filled the local people's stomach. After taking some photos of a woman cutting poultry meat, I came to a fishmonger next. An old-fashioned balance scale was placed in the shop. And some fishes caught in the Yangon river were put on one plate. The female storekeeper worked there.
Thanaka was painted on the entire of her face. Noticing my camera, she looked at me wonderingly. I thought most of her customers were Burmese. So it was uncommon to see foreigners in front of her store. Her eyes grew wide. When I focused on her face, my eyes also grew wide because her face was dappled with Thanaka as if she painted as a penalty.
