Walking through Thanlyin, I met a boy. The boy in the colorful polo shirt was the son of the woman whose picture I had just taken, and he was squatting beside his mother. Unlike the mother, he had no thanaka on his face, arms, or anywhere else, so I guess the young boy didn't think he needed sunscreen.
The boy was washing plastic containers in front of the house. He was probably helping his mother. The washed container was covered with detergent foam. Seeing that he was washing them outside the house, it was likely that there was no water supply to the house and there was no place to find water.
I squatted down on the ground to be at eye level with the squatting boy. I gently pointed the camera I was holding at the boy, and he turned his gaze toward the camera while looking at me in a troublesome manner. He smiled at me, though his face looked as if he was wondering what was going on.
