There were many tall trees in Shinjuku Gyoen Park. They stretched to the sky. Because it was winter, no leaves were on the branches. Yet the noble trees seemed to think nothing of the leaves. Those who come are welcome, those who leave are not regretted. They could be a big enough creature. And I looked up them for a while.
This green park was the mansion of Naito clan till the Meiji Restoration. So some samurai might look up like me in faraway times.
