Shinjuku Gyoen Park has a number of faces. It can be an English-style garden, a Japanese garden, a French-style garden, and so on. However, I didn't know what style of garden I was walking through at that time.
Trees were planted and small paths ran along the sides. Some of the trees had thick trunks. Benches lined the side path. I saw a young couple sitting on them together. The air was quiet and tranquil around them. They seemed to be taking a break with the buzzing of cicadas as background music. This is an oasis in the city. Not only humans, but cicadas also come here to relax.
