The area of the Imperial city in Meknes is surrounded by a high wall. I was walking along the wall. This place was the border between the Imperial city and the residential areas where ordinary people live. The Imperial city side was neat and tidy, but the residential side was a maze of alleys. The sun was strong. There were few shaded areas near the wall.
When I come to the Khemis Gate, I stopped in the shade and rest for a moment. This gate, like the other gates, was shaped like a horseshoe arch. In Morocco, horseshoe arches are scattered all over the place. Looking at the straight wall, I see two women walking along the edge of it.
