A shirtless man was sitting on the bank of the Hooghly River, which flows through Kolkata. He was slapping his soaked clothes on the ground over and over again. Apparently, he was washing his clothes in the river water.
If you look closely, you can see that it is not only clothes that the man is washing in the river water. There was also a toothbrush and a plate behind the man. He seems to be planning to wash not only his clothes but also his teeth and his plate after he finished eating.
Perhaps this place is a watering place for the man to do his chores. In any case, it is rare to see men doing laundry in India. There are many people washing clothes by the riverside, but most of them are usually women.
