I saw a woman sitting by the river in Panauti. There was a pile of pots and pans by her side. She was washing the pots and pans with the river water. There were quite a few pots and pans visible, so it would take quite a while to finish washing them all. The woman continued to wash the dishes in silence. She might be washing several days' worth of dishes at a time.
When I walked along the riverside in Nepal, I often saw not only this woman but also other people washing dishes with river water. Washing plates and pots and pans with river water seems to be a common practice. Maybe there is no such thing as a watering place for washing dishes in common people's houses.
