A large square called El Hedim Square is located at the edge of the old town of Meknes. At dusk, the square is filled with people, but at this time it was deserted. I stopped at the edge of the square and watched the people coming and going in the square. Two men were walking in front of me. They were walking in different directions. Beyond the two men, beyond the high wall, was the old town.
The two men in the picture were not dressed in traditional attire like jellaba. They were wearing ordinary clothes. Even here, Westernization is progressing. In many places around the world, "modernization" and "westernization" are used interchangeably, but I am becoming less and less confident that this is the correct answer.
