At the entrance to Khao San Road, which has recently become more of a downtown area than a cheap lodging district, many tuk-tuks were waiting for customers. For me, tuk-tuks are a symbol of Thailand, and when I see many tuk-tuks, I feel that I have come to Thailand. I have seen these three-wheeled cabs in other Asian countries, but the blue color of the tuk-tuks makes me feel that I have come to Thailand.
In the pouring rain, I was pointing my camera at one of the many tuk-tuks parked around. A motorcycle cab pulled up right next to it. This is a common form of transportation in Bangkok. Locals seem to use motor scooters more than tuk-tuks, because motor scooters can go into sois (small streets) and do not have to worry about traffic jams. A customer got off the motorcycle and returned his helmet to the driver.
