I was in Bangkok's Watthana district and was about to return to Phatum Wan district, where my hotel was located. But there was no train station nearby, and if I took a cab or bus, I would be stuck in traffic. As I was pondering which way to go, I noticed the Saen Saep Canal running nearby. If I took a water bus running on the canal, I would be able to get back easily without getting stuck in traffic.
So I decided to walk along the canal to the water bus stop, which was supposed to be along the canal. But it was not so easy. I thought that all the piers were located on both sides of the canal because Pratunam Pier in the center of Bangkok has a pier on both sides of the canal, but I was wrong. I thought all the piers were built on both sides of the canal, but I was mistaken. Moreover, there is no bridge over the canal nearby. Sometimes you can see the bus stop on the other side of the canal, but you can't get to it.
This time, I had to look for the bridge in order to get to the boarding platform on the other side of the bridge. As I walked along the canal toward the bridge, I blundered into what looked like a fairground. There were food stalls and food was being sold and the place was crowded. Was it a local festival? Forgetting for a moment my goal of heading to the bridge, I enjoy the fair to the fullest.
I looked down at my feet and saw a boy sitting under a table. The boy has settled under the table and is playing a game on his phone. It seems that what is being sold at the food stall is not of interest to the boy. The Pad thai noodles sold at the food stall were of no interest to the boy, who was staring at the screen of his phone without paying attention to the food stall.
