In one corner of the town of Vigan, there is a district with colonial buildings lined up side by side. This idyllic town in the northern part of the island of Luzon flourished as a center of commerce and trade in the 16th century when it was under Spanish rule. The beautiful cityscape created at that time still remains today.
The city is registered as a World Heritage site, but the scale is unexpectedly small. It may be difficult to understand, but I felt like I was visiting Kobe's Chinatown called Nankin-machi after visiting Yokohama's Chinatown.
As I walked to the end of the street, I turned around and started walking back the way I came, and I saw a tricycle at the end of the street.
