The stone lantern with two curving legs is called 'Kotoji-toro'. It is a symbolic representation of this garden. As contrasted with the largeness of this garden, the symbolic place was small.
If people didn't know about it on ahead, most of the people could come through the lantern. Maybe the lantern thought that it was not necessary to be noticed by all visitors. It might want to be appreciated only by persons who have a sense of beauty.
