Prayer Hall And Torii

Torii standing in a line

Many small Torii stood in a line in the precinct

Shot at Toyosaka Inari Jinja, a Shinto shrine in Shibuya, Tokyo.

The precinct was narrow. And many small Torii stood closely. The approach to the prayer hall was an archway. During hanging out in the precinct, a man appeared. He passed through the archway and reached the hall. Then, he started to pray while pressing his hands together.

As I looked at the Torii, I found a year when the Torii was built was written on each pillar. The year was counted by Japanese imperial year. According to what was written, they were built in 2650 in a Japanese imperial year. It was equal to the year 1990 of the Christian era.
