There was a Shinto shrine on top of a small hill along Meguro Street. It was Tamagawa Jinja Shrine. It was a little higher than the surrounding area, and may have been what Mr. Shinichi Nakazawa called "a cape at the tip of Tokyo Bay." Unfortunately, the shrine was not built that long ago, in the 16th century.
As I wandered around the shrine grounds, I saw a few people visiting the shrine to pray. It seems to be a shrine cherished by the locals. As I was about to walk out of the shrine, I saw a woman in high heels walking on the other side of the torii gate.
