Rickshaw Was Sweeping Away

Rickshaw passing by

The rickshaw passed me by

Shot in the city of Kamakura, Kanagawa.

A rickshaw was sweeping away in front of me. The female passenger sitting on its seat was putting a sunshade up.

You can still see rickshaw running in Japan when you visit major tourist attractions. Until about 100 years ago, rickshaw was a major means of transportation for the locals. Since then, they were displaced by the automobiles. During recent years, rickshaw came to life again as a sightseeing vehicle.
