Many taxis and one rickshaw were parked by the roadside
The shiny taxis were parked in a parking lot on a street corner in Kolkata. Although well-kept, all the taxis were quite old and yellow in color. In India, the color of the taxis is determined by the city (state?). And all the taxis in the Kolkata area are in yellow.
A lone rickshaw was parked next to a number of taxis. In Kolkata, human-powered rickshaws still mix in with the taxis. In terms of speed, there is no way a rickshaw can compete with a petrol-powered taxi, no matter how old it is. However, rickshaws have more maneuverability. I think that's the reason why the rickshaws are still working in this congested city.
