Shirdi, located in the state of Maharashtra in India, is the town where Shirdi Sai Baba (not the same Sai Baba who appeared on Japanese TV) was active, and a huge temple of Shirdi Sai Baba stands in the center of the town. Although Shirdi Sai Baba passed away about 100 years ago, this town is still a famous pilgrimage site where many pilgrims come to visit. It is a picturesque town with a temple in the center, but before the temple was built, it was just a remote, cold village.
The man in the photo is one of the pilgrims, and he smiled at me when I pointed my camera at him. He was holding a bowl in his hand.I wasn't sure if he was planning to beg for alms or not, he seemed to be happy to be here on pilgrimage from the expression on his face.
