There were many big shoeshine boxes in Mexico city. It seemed to be common to wear leather boots and shoes not only for businessmen but also for the persons who wore informal clothes here.

When the bootblacks found me, they became happy and came to me. They might think of me as a money tree. Nevertheless, they disappointed when they approached because I wore sandals. Unfortunately, there was no room for the bootblacks.
