When I walked around the precinct, I found a three-storied wooden pagoda. I heard it was built in 1712. It was designated as a nationally important cultural property. These kinds of architecture were originally built for containing Buddha's ashes.
Yet there were an enormous number of pagodas all over the world where Buddhist lived. So most of them couldn't contain Buddha's ashes as a matter of practice. And this pagoda didn't contain, neither. Yet the fact didn't surge the base of one's belief.
